We’re just starting to really get into the classic Dr. Seuss books now, so of course I had to find some ideas for bringing those classic books into our sensory play! I am so excited to share these Dr. Seuss Sensory Play Ideas that I’ve found!

Dr. Seuss-inspired Sensory Play for Kids - sensory activities inspired by classic stories like the Cat in the Hat, The Grinch, The Lorax, and more!

Goodness, isn’t this Cat in the Hat-inspired play dough tray from Fun a Day so inviting! My kids would play with that for hours!

If you know us, you know that we LOVE slime! This Cat in the Hat Slime from Little Bins for Little Hands brings a fun patterning aspect to our favourite stretchy, oozy material!

I am just in love with so much about this Lorax Sensory Bin from Lemon Lime Adventures! The colour scheme, the pom poms, the math – I love how multi-dimensional the sensory bin is!

I am just loving this simple green eggs and ham sensory bin from Greatest Resource Childcare.

This 10 Apples Up Top counting activity from Sugar Aunts might seem all sweetness and light… until the kids whip out a hammer to crunch those apples! We’ve played with baked cotton balls before and they are a definite favourite!

I can’t find an actual source for this cute Truffula Trees craft (despite doing a reverse Google image search) but it was too fun not to include!

We actually made Earth Slime just like this one from Little Bins for Little Hands but hers turned out much cuter so I’m going to share it instead 😉

We haven’t really explored sensory bottles much, but I think they are a great way to have some travel-sized fun without the mess! This Lorax Sensory Bottle from The Pleasantest Thing captures some mini-Truffula Trees made of everyday craft materials.

Oobleck is one of our favourite materials, and I love how A Spotted Pony paired Oobleck with the story of “Bartholomew & the Oobleck” however I usually think of oobleck as this kind of recipe, and would call hers slime. (But either way, her activity is awesome!)

A simple rice sensory bin with some magnet letters is the perfect quick sensory play idea after reading Dr. Seuss’s ABC book! (Idea from Izzie Mac and Me)

This “Cat in the Hat Magic Dough” from The Kinder Wife turns into cloud dough – one of our favourites!

What’s your favourite Dr. Seuss book? Which book would you like to see some sensory play ideas for?
