Materials to Make Homemade Shower Melts
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup citric acid
- 1/2 cup Epsom salt
- 1/4 teaspoon mica
- 25 drops lemon oil
- 15 drops peppermint oil
- 2 teaspoon water
- Small water bottle with water
How to Make Lemon Peppermint Shower Melts
In a medium bowl combine the first four ingredients. Mix well. In a small bowl combine the oils and water. Pour the water into the larger bowl and expect some fizz.
Using a fork mix all the ingredients together until everything starts to look a bit wet.
Grab an empty ice cube tray and portion half of the mixture into the cubes. Use a spatula to really press the mixture down- the more you press down the better they will hold together.
Divide the remaining mixture on top and press down firmly once again. Use a few squirt of the spray bottle to top off the melts and press down one last time.
Let them sit on the counter for twenty four hours to firm up. Afterwards, pop them out as ice cubes and store in a glass jar.
When you want to use one simply grab a melt and place it the drain of your shower so it gets hit with the hot water running down- this is what helps it melt.
