After the crazy reception that my Root Beer Float Cocktail received, I thought I’d share another favourite ice cream cocktail: a creamy and delicious Apple Pie a la Mode Cocktail.

The best fall cocktail recipe, this apple pie a la mode is the perfect way to indulge after a crisp autumn day. It tastes like caramelized, baked apple pie topped with fresh, creamy ice cream - amazing!

If you don’t have apple cider, apple juice will substitute well but I’ve only ever added apple juice cold. I don’t know why warm apple cider is amazing and warm apple juice is the worst idea in the world to me, but it is. A beer cider would also be a fun way to experiment with this fall cocktail – if you try it, please let me know how it was!

How to Make an Apple Pie Cocktail

Place 2 oz of Amaretto (almond liqueur) in the bottom of your serving glass and top with a scoop of ice cream.

Optionally, if you want a warm cocktail you can warm up your apple cider in the microwave or a in saucepan over medium-heat before adding it to the cocktail.

Pour 1/2 cup of apple cider over the ice cream, or enough to fill the serving glass.

Taste and add more Amaretto as needed.

Makes 2.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Amaretto
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 scoops ice cream

Instructions
