One of the great joys of traveling is savoring new cuisine and exploring new flavors.  However, even if you’re traveling with kids, you can still explore Seattle’s culinary treasures without worry.  The city offers an incredible selection of local restaurants that appeal to any tastes and temptations.

With smart planning, any Seattle restaurant can be family friendly – from the trendiest upscale to irresistible budget options.  Below is a list that is sure to introduce Seattle to you and your family, through it’s incredible and diverse food.

Seattle restaurants your family has to eat at! If you love great food, you cannot go wrong with these amazing Seattle restaurants

Family-Friendly Restaurants in Seattle with Serious Foodie Cred

Westward.  Set on the stunning Seattle waterfront and featuring local seafood daily, Westward offers a cozy boathouse feel while serving up an incredible spread.  Brunch and dinner menus are broken up by portion sizes, making it easy to know which dishes to share and which plates are great for younger diners.  Regardless which dish you try, you won’t be disappointed.

Seatown Seabar and Rotisserie. Another amazing seafood restaurant, this brunch is one for the books. I’m sold on any place that I can order a few oystersor a crab BLT sandwich for breakfast while Ella enjoys sausage gravy and biscuits. When visiting Seattle, you really need to stop by at least one of Tom Douglas’s restaurants.

Delancey.  Pizza is always a crowd favorite, but once you eat handcrafted pies at Delancey, you will never look at pizza delivery the same again.  Featuring local and regional ingredients exclusively, when your pizza is pulled from the woodfired grill, the entire family’s taste buds will be cheering.

Staple and Fancy.  When you’re unsure exactly what your kids will eat, the fantastic “Fancy” menu at Staple and Fancy is sure to satisfy.  Turn over the selection of dishes to the chef for the evening as multiple Italian-inspired dishes featuring seasonal ingredients are crafted just for your table.

The Walrus and the Carpenter.  Think fisherman’s delight at the Walrus and the Carpenter with menus that change daily to capitalize on the freshest seafood in Seattle.  Explore stunning new flavors and textures with the entire family, for a price your budget can afford to absorb.

Il Corvo.  If you’re craving a satisfying bowl of pasta, or your kids are mac and cheese fanatics, Il Corvo features handmade pasta using traditional methods.  Menus change daily and reflect quality seasonal and organic ingredients.  Simple yet delectable; affordable too.

Le Pichet. A traditional Parisian bistro that Anthony Bourdain calls “one of the best in the country.” The prices are amazing, making it the perfect spot for a low-key, leisurely lunch. Order a few things off the menu, let the kids rest and eat slowly, before returning to the surrounding Pike Place neighbourhood for other foodie treasures.

Seattle Restaurant Recommendations for Families

Uneeda Burger.  After hours of walking, sometimes burgers are just the thing to curb your family’s hunger.  Uneeda delivers with upscale burgers in a casual atmosphere.  Fine wines, craft beers, and locally sourced meats mean your dinner problem is solved.

Salare.  If you’re looking for flavors outside the typical fare, Salare delivers.  Chef Edouardo melds the flavors of South Africa, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean in each plate, ensuring you’ll never be bored with his dishes.  Family friendly and causal, while offering first rate food, Salare is one of few upscale restaurants with a kid’s menu.

Un Bien.  With two locations, Un Bien offers authentic Caribbean cuisine with a casual vibe.  Specializing in crafted sandwiches or wraps, you’ll also find a delicious array of bean and rice bowls, salads, and street food fare such as fresh grilled corn.  Another stellar option for Caribbean food is Paseo.

Lil Woody’s.  Stunning burgers at a price you won’t believe describes Lil Woody’s perfectly.  Each one-of-a-kind burger demands to be eaten – your challenge will be to choose just one.  Pair burgers with hand cut fries topped with homemade queso and the kids will likely be asking to return again and again.

Honorable Mentions

Canlis. If you’ve avoided fine dining with the kids until now, I’d skip this location. However, if your children are really well behaved in fancy restaurants or you have friends willing to watch the kids for a night, Canlis promises an unforgettable meal.

Tilikum Place Cafe. While we will definitely be hitting up this restaurant, it goes in the honorable mentions because it most definitely requires a reservation and the menu is a bit smaller than the other selections, which can be tricky with kids after a long day of travelling. However, I think the menu looks amazing and I prefer restaurants who do a few dishes really well versus a lot of dishes mediocrely.
